Samsung to Invest $5 Billion as Part of Green Strategy

Eminent South Korean multinational giant Samsung has undertaken one big initiative to make our environment better. The world’s largest chip and smartphone maker has pledged to invest approx $5 Billion as part of its green strategy. This huge amount of money the company will use to develop technology to filter out greenhouse gases and capture CO2 generated during chip production.

The company is also planning to recycle resources like plastic and lithium and aims to make carbon neutral devices by 2030. South Korea aspires to achieve net zero emission by 2030. This development is an effort by Samsung to strengthen its government objective and also to meet its endeavor of sustainable and environment friendly development.

“The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. The consequences of inaction are unimaginable and require the contribution of every one of us, including businesses and governments,” said Jong-Hee Han, vice chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, in a statement on Thursday. “Samsung is responding to the threats of climate change with a comprehensive plan that includes reducing emissions, new sustainability practices and the development of innovative technologies and products that are better for our planet.”
