SpaceX Offers More Starlink Terminals to Ukraine to Maintain Global Connectivity

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is ready to send yet another batch of Starlink terminals to Ukraine, a war- affected country, to help them remain connected with their loved ones and also to the outside world. The recent invasion in Ukraine resulted in the destruction of several telecom infrastructures at different places. Also, power outages at key telecom sites resulted in the vast disruption of telecom connectivity across the country.

Starlink, a satellite broadband service provider, that has the capacity to provide internet access coverage to most parts of the world, is considered as more reliable in such a situation. It can even offer robust connectivity in far remote areas that makes it important in the current crisis. The company on Friday launched a further 50 Starlink satellites to take its mission to the next level.

The first batch of Starlink terminals was delivered to Ukraine on 28th February 2022 and it is reported that people experienced a speed of over 200 Mbps with the system. Elon’s move to help Ukraine with such a gesture in these volatile times earned him praises from all quarters of society.

Interestingly, this is not the first time this billionaire helped society. Previously he donated 50 satellite terminals to restore the internet in Tonga, whose telecommunications network was disrupted due to a natural calamity.
