U.S. Cellular Donates Hotspots to Support Students’ Dreams
U.S. Cellular, a prominent American network operator, recently donated 35 wireless hotspots and two years of services to the notable Boys & Girls Club based out in Joplin, Missouri. This donation which is valued at $36,960 is a part of its “After School Access Project”. It will help students to get access to proper internet access to complete their regular tasks/projects once the school timings are over. This project will help those youth who lack access to internet services.
The company believes that students are the future of the nation and as a responsible enterprise it is its duty to support “After School Access Project” so that students can chase their dreams without any problem. “We often listen/read stories about how teenagers stay late at fast-food restaurants to get access to internet connectivity to complete their projects. This facility will help students to get their jobs done in a convenient manner,” said Amia Warren, Development Coordinator at Boys & Girls Club.
Previously as well the U.S. Cellular has taken such a noble initiative to help the youth. Last year, the company had invested USD 2.6 million in its After School Access Project. It then donated 2800 hotspots to 33 Boys & Girls Clubs in different parts of the country. In a press release, the company further stated that it will donate up to USD 13 million in the same program to assist as many students as possible in near future as well.
