The report states that war in Ukraine played a major role in this steep fall. Most of the decline is seen in Russia and Ukraine where shipments fell by 31% and 51% respectively as compared with Q1 2021. In the rest of Europe, 3.5% of year-on-year decline has been reported.<\/p>\n<p>The recent Russia-Ukraine conflict has not just created large-scale devastation in Ukraine but also reduced the pace of economic activities in the region to a great extent. Further, stringent economic sanctions against Russia, record inflation due to war, and falling consumer confidence are also considered as top reasons behind this development.<\/p>\n<p>Experts believe that the coming times will be much more volatile for the region and the smartphone market may witness a very tough time ahead when the full-scale economic impact of the war truly starts to be felt.<\/p>\n<p>As per the research, Samsung tops the race in terms of market share in the European region followed by Apple, Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, and others.
